I have been to LEGASPI! We spent a week in the Philippines last summer, saw Mayon and rice paddys and caribou and jungles, rode in jeepneys and tricycles and busses, ate bananas and rice and papayas and pineapples and rice, pancit and rice, bihon and rice, lumpia and rice, and of course, rice! Saw Cagsawa ruins and the caves the Philippine resistance hid in during the Japanese occupation. (BTW, have you read WHEN ELEPHANTS DANCE? It is a super book). My daughter-in-law is Filipina. Do you speak Bikol?
Oh, and I enjoyed reading your lists!
lol...thanks Pepek...yeah, we like our rice! Speak Bicol? psh! I wish. I can understand tagalog and bicol, but I'm too much a coconut :-/ I haven't been home since i was five and that was ooohh......31 years ago!! Love the food though!!
